Vancouver International Burlesque Festival

BMO Vancouver Marathon
May 4, 2014
Held at the Concord Pacific Place;
the BMO Vancouver Marathon is one of Canada's largest marathons and has an
extensive history since its inaugural year in 1972.
The event has had participation from athletes from around the world - 38
countries in 2008!
This year, participants in the 42.2 km Marathon, 21.1 km
Half Marathon, 8 km, and McDonald's Kids MaraFun will all toe the same line on
race day! Start line is on Pacific Boulevard, east of GM Place. Finish line is
on Pacific Boulevard, south of GM Place.

The Vancouver International Children's Festival
at Vanier Park features the finest theatre, music, dance,
puppetry, storytelling, and comedy from around the world. This
annual week long event is a favourite for children, their
families, school groups, teachers and everyone who loves the arts
for young audiences. In addition to the mainstage performances in
tent theatres, the Festival presents open-air shows at the
bandshell, roving performers as well as a range of hands-on
creative and educational workshops.

2014 Festival Week events will include official opening ceremonies, the Annual Antique Fair, the Ancient and Honourable Hyack Anvil Battery Salute, May Day celebrations, a Multicultural Festival presented by the Downtown New Westminster Business Improvement Association, and the renowned Hyack International Parade.

day public extravaganza at the new Vancouver Convention Centre. Bard on the Beach

Bard on the Beach is one of Canada's
largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festivals. Presented in a
magnificent setting on the waterfront in Vancouver's Vanier Park, the Festival
offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas, and several special events in two
performance tents from June through September. Bard on the Beach is a registered not-for-profit society with a mandate to present the works of
William Shakespeare professionally and with integrity in an annual Festival that
is both affordable and accessible to a wide audience, and to
nurture and promote a passion and enthusiasm for Shakespeare's work.
